Location of RRS Events in Idlewild Park The Reno Rose Society hosts two major events every year in Idlewild Park. The first is our annual Rose Pruning Demonstration which will be Saturday, March 29, 2008 from at 11 AM to 2:30 PM in the Reno Municipal Rose Garden, east of the California Building in Idlewild Park. This is a great opportunity for residents to learn proper rose pruning techniques for a variety of different type roses. Admission is free. The second event is our Annual Rose Show which will be June 13, 2009. In addition to the show there will be a flower show, arrangement competition, art show, wine tasting, luncheon, and raffle. For information, go to our Show Page or call (775) 791-0777. Directions There are three main ways of driving to the Reno Municipal Rose Garden. All of the ones below will result in your driving north on Booth Street. From Booth Street, turn left onto Idlewild Drive before crossing the Truckee River. Take a right onto Cowan into Idlewild Park. The Rose Garden is ahead on the left. The white building west of the garden is the California Building. Exhibitors for the Rose Show enter via the driveway on the west side of the building and go through the wooden gate to the show preparation area. All others enter through the front door.
