The early Society members were instrumental in establishing the Reno Municipal Rose Garden, which is now next to the California Building in Idlewild Park. Current members of the Society continue to support local public rose gardens, with the creation of a heritage rose garden at the historic Lake Mansion, and scented gardens throughout the area. The Reno Rose Society, is a nonprofit, for-public-benefit, educational organization, that is dedicated to the cultivation and appreciation of "America's National Flower", and to having fun as we learn about all things roses. Whether one is an experienced rose grower, or new to the hobby, our society has something for everyone who has an interest in roses; from learning how to prune or propagate them... to how to hybridize or exhibit them... from learning how to photograph or paint them... to how to cook or decorate with them. There’s no doubt about it, the ways to enjoy roses are endless! The Reno Rose Society invites you to participate in its many educational and social functions. This year the Society is proud to associate with the Reno annual art event ARTown, and invite the public to the Reno Rose Society’s fifth “A Day of Wine and Roses” Rose Show July 14, 2012. For more information on our show see our News page and for all ARTown events see the Reno is ARTown site. "Yes, you CAN grow beautiful roses!" |
