Pruning with Consulting Rosarians
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
You are welcome to attend the annual Rose Pruning Demonstration on
Saturday, March 30, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM and continuing
until 12:00 PM in the Reno Municipal Rose Garden, east of the
California Building in Idlewild Park.
This is a great opportunity for residents to learn proper rose pruning
techniques for the variety of different rose types here in the
Truckee Meadows. Admission is free, and the
City of Reno Horticulturalist can really use your help.
Consulting Rosarians from the Reno Rose Society and the City of Reno Horticulturalist will be on hand to explain pruning techniques for
different rose varieties. The garden has many species of roses
including climber roses, miniature roses,
hybrid tea roses and floribunda roses.
Please bring gloves and sharp bypass pruning shears to prune
the roses after the demonstration.
If you would like further information,
please contact Rebecca Shaw at 775-544-9259.
Also check our Facebook page as the dates comes closer.
Volunteer hours go a long way in maintaining this beautiful rose garden within the city of Reno.
